Carbon Footprint

Many of our daily activities are a major contributing factor to greenhouse gas emissions that affect global climate change. Addressing this change is imperative to help ensure a safe world to live in tomorrow and for generations to come. Master Meter is proactively working to address and reduce our carbon footprint one small step at a time.

There are many initiatives to help lower our overall carbon footprint, but it begins with us as individuals, employees, and as a company.

Energy Reduction

Synthetic mesh solar screens have been placed across all windows at our Mansfield headquarters blocking 95% of the sun's heat from being transferred within the building. All offices are equipped with "smart" power bars, to promote daily computer and peripheral shutdown, as well as motion activated light switches. From these activities our total monthly energy consumption has been reduced by 35%.

Eliminate Bottled Water

Master Meter has also eliminated the use of bottled water by employing in-house water filtration; this initiative has reduced thousands of pounds of annual transportation related carbon and helps shrink landfill waste.

E-cards and Web Conferencing

Master Meter has switched to digital holiday ecards rather than traditional printed pieces. Eliminating thousands of cards saves trees and energy. Web conferencing helps keep management off planes and not only reduces our carbon footprint but keeps us from unproductive airport delays.

Alternative Energy

Master Meter is blessed to be headquartered in Texas—a state with wide open skies full of bright sun and constant wind. We are exploring harnessing both of these elements through solar and wind power.

Master Meter hopes that our choices will influence others to be more aware and seek out eco-friendly solutions to saving energy and creating a low carbon world.
