Battery Reprocessing

With the success of Master Meter's 3G meter management system, over 2,000,000 3G AMR endpoints have been deployed. In turn, there are close to 4,000,000 lithium chloride batteries in the field. Batteries are a fact of life with the continual expansion of AMR/AMI technology.

Rather than simply discarding this product at the end of its life, Master Meter is taking the initiative to change the current mindset.

The Big Green Box

By partnering with the leader in environmentally safe battery recycling, TOXCO Inc., and The Big Green Box's recycling program, Master Meter is implementing ways to collect and recycle all batteries. We already have in place battery collection locations for employees to bring their personal spent batteries for reprocessing.

TOXCO's exclusive proprietary process cryogenically freezes all batteries rendering their chemicals inert. Materials are then shredded, separated, collected and reprocessed for future battery manufacturing.

Master Meter is confident that by addressing our ecological impact and proactively managing our product's environmental footprint we will encourage others to do the same. With a little time and effort we hope our significant endeavors will make a difference in protecting our ecosystem.
