The following is a timeline of important events in Master Meter's history:
1970 Organized as a Texas company known as Aqua Utilities, a waterworks distributor.
1976 Aqua Utilities added some limited water meter assembly.
1980 Discontinued distributor activities and Master Meter, Inc. begins manufacturing multi-jet meter line.
1985 Introduced turbine meters in bronze 2" to 6" and cast iron 8" to 12".
1988 Introduction of Fire Hydrant Meter.
1990 Moved to 30,000 sq. ft. facility in Longview, TX.
1991 DIALOG® Encoder, on-site electronic reading and telephone AMR introduced.
1991 Introduced 2", 3" and 4" Dual Body (DB) Compound Meters.
1992 6" Compound Meter added to line.
1992 First DIALOG® AMR System installed for submetering.
1992 DIALOG® line expanded for submetering with LAN introduction.
1993 Expansion of marketing efforts by creating a Submetering business unit.
1994 AMR-X (Extended Distance AMR) provided for submetering.
1994 ReadMaster® and Micronet Programmer/Reader introduced.
1995 Expanded participation in industrial market by creating an Industrial business unit.
1995 Expansion of Multi-jet line for industrial applications.
1995 Introduction of Electromagnetic (Mag) Flow Meters.
1995 Production of FM-approved 4" to 8" Fire Service Compound Meters, Fire Service Turbines and Strainers.
1997 Expansion of Technical & Sales facilities.
1997 Windows™ Windows95 AMR and LAN software added.
1997 Longview facility achieved ISO 9002 Certification.
1997 MasterLINX™ T-LINX, LAN-LINX and LDL introduction to submetering market.
1997 Master Meter introduced fixed network RF-LINX™ to utility and submetering markets.
1998 Introduced MMT-S (integral strainer and turbine meter) assemblies.
1998 Introduced 1½" MMT bronze turbine meter.
1999 RAMAR® wireless walk-by and drive-by systems added to product line.
1999 Master Meter opened new corporate offices in Fort Worth, TX.
1999 Master Meter offered unleaded residential meters using SeBiLOY II (now called EnviroBrass II).
2000 Flexible Axis Meter (FAM) introduced.
2001 DIALOG's second generation product 2G™ launched (DIALOG™ with integrated Sensus® protocol).
2001 Master Meter aligned with Greentree Applied Systems to offer software and hardware integration services.
2002 Master Meter offered RADIX® handheld readers.
2002 DIALOG's third generation 3G™ integrated wireless radio reading system introduced
2002 Bottom Loaded Multi-Jets introduced in 5/8x3/4 sizes.
2002 New "Big Dial" registers introduced.
2002 Master Meter's small residential meters achieve NSF61 certification using EnviroBrass II bodies.
2003 Master Meter's 3G system wins the Frost & Sullivan award for AMR systems.
2003 Master Meter introduces the Universal 3G system that includes models for other water meters and other utility meters as well as the promised upgrade migration capability for previously sold, standard DIALOG registers.
2003 Master Meter's commercially sized, intermediate 1 1/2" and 2" Multijet Meters achieve NSF61 certification using EnviroBrass II bodies.
2004 Move in to our new facility in Mansfield, TX.
2005 Opening of Master Meter Canada to better serve Canadian utilities.
